Lovcen

Lovcen is an amazing mounting just above the Boka Kotorska bay (1749 m). This mounting is a symbol of freedom and “holly place” for each Montenegrin.  National Park is a stunning destination visited by thousands of tourists every year. The sea and high mountains surrounding the Bay of Kotor blend here, creating a unique mesmerizing and breathtaking view! Lovcen, is also known by its numerous viewpoints from which you can see almost all Montenegro. Wherever you look, you will experience a unique and unforgettable visual impression. On the top of the mounting, there is a mausoleum of Petar II Petrovich Njegos – famous Bishop, Poet and Ruler of Montenegro (1813-1851). Climbing the mausoleum (by 461 stairs) is a crown of the visit to the National Park.

Small, round, viewpoint terrace is one of the most picturesque observation platforms overlooking the Bay of Kotor. It is located just next to the old road from Cetinje to Kotor. Terrace is located on 1265 m above the sea level (north-west orientation) and from here, you can see Boka in all its splendor from a bird’s eye view – the sea surrounded by gorges of cliffs, pure mountain air, bright sun and tiled roofs of the ancient Kotor below, in the distance. Terrace is made in stone, it is small (app. 5.5 m in radius) so it can fit wedding ceremonies with up to 10 persons maximum. There is a parking place just next to it. You should walk from car to the terrace approximately 10-15 m by gravel path. There is no any covered place next to the terrace in case of rain, no water and electricity connections, and no toilets nearby.

In addition, you need to know that this rout is very popular for tourists during the high season and there could be some tourists around the place. Not on the terrace, but in some small distance.

This location is on territory of Natinal Park Lovcen and there is an entrance fee for all guests 2.5 euro/person.

In high season (Jun, July & August) driving time can be longer from some places because of  traffic jam.

Ideal places for photo & video shooting near this location are: Ivanova Korita park, Old road to the Kotor, Cetinje, Kotor.

Lower, on the old road from Lovcen to the Kotor, there is one amazing hidden private plot with a very interesting view of the Bay and the Old Town of Kotor. Location is divided in two natural terraces on two levels. First one (app 5×7 m), is located just below the road, it can fit wedding ceremonies up to 10 persons. Second (app 13×30 m) is just a few meters lower but much bigger and can fit weddings from 10 and up to 100 persons and also it is a bit further down the road. Both terraces are located approximately on 355-360 m above the sea level, north-west oriented. They have same entrance from the road. There is a parking place 10-15 m from entrance. From the car to the location, you need to walk by asphalt road. This is an open space plot in nature surrounding so there is no water & electricity connection, and no toilets nearby. Terraces has natural grass cover.

Gorazhda is an ancient fortress from the times of Austria-Hungary, located on the slopes of the Mount Lovcen overlooking the city of Tivat and beautiful Tivat Bay. A picturesque spacious glade with a beautiful view of the sea is at your disposal. It offers a stunning view of the most romantic sunsets. A nearby fortress can be an interesting location for a photoshoot. It is located on 430 m above the sea level, west oriented. It can fit weddings with different guest’s numbers, from weddings just for 2 and up to 100 persons. You need to know that this is an open space plot in nature surrounding so there is no water & electricity connection, and no toilets nearby.
